The Spouse visa under family visa category is meant for those applicants who are married to a person who is either an Australian citizen or a holder of permanent residence in Australia. Applicants who get the spouse visa to Australia also hold the same rights as a permanent resident and with time are granted the citizenship to Australia. Once the applicant applies for a spouse visa, they are granted with the visa for initial two years and they also have to prove the genuineness of the relationship and therefore leading to Australian permanent residence. Health & Character Requirements: As per the strict health & character requirements and rules for immigration to Australia, the applicant is screened by a panel of registered doctors by the Australian embassy in India for various illnesses which may pose a threat to the people living in Australia. For the character requirements the applicant has to obtain a police clearance certificate from the place where they have been residing in the past for more than 12 months stating that no pending investigations are against them and they are law abiding citizens of that country.
Apart from that the spouse and the sponsorer has to provide enough evidence of their spousal relationship which could be given in the form of a marriage certificate, marriage pictures etc. There are many other requirements which the applicant has to meet in order to be finally issued with a spouse visa which may differ with the variety of cases.
