The Partner visa for New Zealand is intended for unmarried partner, fiancée and married or spouse applicants who want to immigrate to New Zealand to join their whether unmarried, fiancé married - is someone who has been legally spouse. This visa is termed as a partner visa because of its nature as it allows any kind of a partner of a New Zealand resident or citizen to relocate and live with their partners. The sponsoring person although have to own a permanent residence status or a citizenship status of New Zealand. This type of a visa is a pathway to gaining permanent residency in New Zealand. It provides the same benefits to the immigrated person as the PR of that country. The basic eligibilities to apply for this visa are-
1. Age- Both the partners, a sponsorer and the applicant under this visa category have to be 18 years of age or older.
2. Partner- A partner of the New Zealand resident married to the applicant, or in a close living relationship that is similar to marriage, for 12 months or more.
3. Relationship- Both the partners, the sponsorer and the applicant must have been living together for a minimum of 12 months and should have a genuine and stable relationship whether they were married or not. They should have met prior to lodging of the application for a visa and they must not be closely related to each other and should provide sufficient evidence of the genuineness of their relationship.
4. Apart from all the basic requirements mentioned above, age, qualification, language proficiency and Health& Character requirements are mandatory.
