UK: Fiance Visa

A UK resident willing to sponsor his/her fiancé to enter UK would do so provided they have the settled status of UK as permanent resident or a British citizen. The permanent residents wishing to marry a foreign national act as sponsorer and can lawfully invite their fiancée to enter UK on permanent basis after marriage. This visa is granted to the applicant whose intentions are to marry the guarantor after arriving in UK. Therefore, this visa allows the applicant to enter or leave the UK in order to get married to their fiancée. The evidence of relationship is not necessary for this type of a visa unlike other family visas. The applicant need not provide evidence that their relationship had already been existing since past for a number of years or months. This visa is initially issued for a period of six months and is awarded in order to make the applicant able to travel to the UK to get married to the applicant. After marriage the applicant may apply for an indefinite leave to remain in the UK and then so the permanent residency would be granted. The grant of permanent residency status also depends on whether their marriage would be successful in future. Applicants for a visa for Fiancée immigration should get married within six months from the date of issue. To qualify for this type of a visa the main eligibility factors are-

1. The sponsoring British resident and the applicant should be over 18 years of age.
2. They must plan to marry within a reasonable time period and they should plan to live together permanently after they are married.
3. The sponsorer should have a place to stay in UK
4. The sponsorer should be able to support the applicant and any dependent financially after they are married to each other.
5. The applicant would be allowed to work only after their fiancé or prospective marriage visa has changed to marriage visa and they are then settled in the UK. After the grant of the visa they are allowed to work full time without the need of a work permit.
