The Tier-1 Entrepreneur visa is based on a points based system of assessment in which the applicant is judged by their capacity of investment or control over those businesses in the UK. This category also allows the applicant to apply for a permanent residence, or immigration to the UK. The applicants are not required to be sponsored to apply for this visa. They also do not need to receive a certificate of sponsorship from any UK business company, colleges or any other institution. Applicants are required to have studied from institutions where the course was taught in English. The applicants are required to be highly proficient in English Language. The English language requirements for this category of visa are stricter than the rest of visas for the UK.

The applicants must be financially stable and should have enough funds to apply under this category. They should be able to support themselves and any of their family members while their stay in the country. It is important to note that those candidates applying for a tier visa may not seek or undertake employment in the UK. Candidates must be able to satisfy the following criteria:
