The New Zealand long-term business visa is meant for those visa applicants who wish to migrate to New Zealand to start a new business. The long term business visa is a temporary residency permit which is a pathway to the entrepreneur category which later entitles an applicant to Permanent Residency in New Zealand. This visa allows the applicant to stay in New Zealand as a self-employed business person for up to three years. The applicant has sufficient money to start the proposed business in New Zealand and also has enough money to support themselves along with any family members that accompany them.

The applicant has not been involved in business which has had any law objections of any kind of investigations going on to it. The business should be approved by the New Zealand Law authorities.

The applicant has relevant business experience, including qualifications, existing businesses, shareholdings.

The applicant should have had a history of successful business in the last five years and should not have a record of any business failure.
Additional requirements-
In addition to the basic eligibility to start a business- proficiency in English language, age, health and character needs are to be met in order to obtain a long term business visa for NZ. Although, there is no set limit on capital required, business visa applications are judged subjectively on a case by case basis where sufficient funds are required for starting a business in NZ. To be eligible under this category an applicant also needs to show that the proposed business would benefit New Zealand’s economy. The new businesses should also open job opportunities to people of NZ.
